Kingdom Chinchillas For Sale terms

**If you can't afford a vet don't buy the pet** If you cannot give maximum time to your chinchillas, dont consider breeding with them. It take a lot of time and effort if a difficult birth happens or if kits need suppliment feeding. An orphan kits must be fed two hourly - throught the night as well - in the first few days and then gradually increased to three then four hourly. So do think before you allow your chinchillas to breed.

I have been breeding and showing chinchillas since 1991 all my chinchillas all top quality and for my chinchillas I have won many NCS breeders awards. I  often have to keep my numbers down therefore am able to offer for sale show quality pedigree chinchillas to enhance your breeding programs.

I am based in the beautiful agricultural farmland county of the Kingdom Of Fife, Scotland. Fife is called the Kingdom of Fife as it was the seat of kings in ancient times.

My chinchillas are bred for the sole purpose of showing. I do not sell to pelt trade, nor do I ship abroad. I can personally deliver a chinchilla to a show I am going to so that a buyer can have delivery of one of my chinnies. In all sales of chinnies I insist that I  meet the buyer. (I reserve the right if neccessary to stop the sale after meeting said person at a show) The welfare of my chinchillas is paramount to me.

My breeding chinchillas are in polygamous cages. Smaller and safer than pet cages. This is to prevent accidents to kits due to falling from a high shelf and also ensures new mum's cannot jump up on to a high shelf to get away from kits when they are born as often happens in large pet size cages.

The male when pothole is shut off at time of a females birthing can still see and be near his 'wife' and new family.. He can chatter away to them and give little kisses to his babies. Thus no stress due to parting as often happens when you have to remove him from the large pet sized cage to another cage to prevent breedback. The pothole, when closed in the polygamous cage prevents breedback.

The reason we close it is because a male chinchillas will breed with a female at and just after birth. The polygamous cage prevents this 'breedback' as we call it. It's so nice to see him come along his tunnel from his main cage to visit his families. Dont worry about him not constantly seeing his babies. he can do so anytime he wishes and dont worry about him missing out on his bit of 'fun' as he usually has two or three wives to visit. After all a male in the wild lives with his herd. With Polygamous cages the male is unstressed and as we have a smaller cage for him at end of his run, he can retire to there to feed and rest.

Personally I think it's wrong to allow breedback. Females are not breeding machines. A female needs some well earned rest after birth and this method of breeding gives her peace to feed her kits and rest up for a spell once they are weaned.

Check this page chinchillas for sale  or phone for an update of availablity of chinchillas for sale. A pedigree, care leaflet and sample of food and hay are given at point of sale to enable a smooth change over to the pellets you will use.

***please note: I am now going to follow the trend of most breeders and only sell a full pedigree female if the buyer wishes to buy a male too and even then my top quality young chinchillas will not be sold until after I have shown them at an N.C.S. show.

Any sales enquiries please phone 6-9pm evenings only. OR, add any time to the contact form on home page or of course email me kingdomchinchillas@hotmail.com for quick attention. if using contact form it will be instantly sent to my mailbox-~remember to leave an email address! ~thank you.

My chinchillas are all Pedigree Show Quality Chinchillas and all have excellent temperament. Love being held and all hand trained.

NOTE**** Before you come to my home to buy a chinchilla. Please do not insult me or waste your time and mine by coming to my home and then say you should have one cheaper as you are going to keep it as a pet and not show it at shows or use in a breeding program! As most will appreciate at the end of the day. It is the same chinchilla.

Having been show champion at many regional shows and also gaining the award of the NCS National Show Champion 2003 and also 2005. (this is the top accolade of chinchilla breeding) The price is the same whether you are going to be breeding with it or not. By buying a pedigree chinchilla you are gaining the knowledge of the genetic history of that chinchilla. You will see at a glance there has been no inbreeding or unwise breeding by me. ** I also reserve the right to refuse a sale!**

After you take it home please feed it properly. Given proper feeding and maintaining healthy environment with lots of hay and untreated pine wood to chew on you should never have any problems. Once the said chinchilla leaves my premises. It is your responsibility to continue what I started. Please also register with a good vet who knows about chinchillas. The checkup visits will get your chinchilla used to going so that if ever ill it will not be scared when it goes back.
