Brittle and/or Broken Whiskers
Are also an indication of fur fungus and should again be watched carefully. That said if another chinchilla present it may be the other chinchilla has been over grooming their partner. This will account for what appears to be broken or short whiskers. In which case be observant over next few days to rule this out.
